Together, the companies target GW-scale AI Rack and advanced infrastructure manufacturing for global data center build outs, anchoring India as a premier hub for AI hardware export.

Adani, Jabil join hands to build AI data centre infrastructure in India

India’s ambitions to become a global artificial intelligence powerhouse received a fresh boost on June 15 as Adani Group and US-based manufacturing giant Jabil announced plans to create a large scale AI and data centre infrastructure manufacturing platform in India. The proposed alliance aims to position the country as a major exporter of AI hardware at a time when global demand for AI computing infrastructure is surging.

The collaboration combines Adani Group’s infrastructure, energy and data centre capabilities with Jabil’s six decades of engineering and advanced manufacturing expertise. Together, the companies plan to manufacture high density AI racks, servers, storage systems, networking equipment and a wide range of supporting infrastructure required for next generation data centres.

A key focus of the alliance is the development of multi gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity in India. The partners also intend to build a comprehensive ecosystem covering power distribution units, transformers, switchgears, cooling systems and other critical equipment used in hyperscale data centres. Their goal is to offer an integrated solution from design to deployment for data centre operators worldwide.

The announcement comes amid an unprecedented global investment cycle in artificial intelligence. According to the companies, the market opportunity linked to AI infrastructure could exceed $3 trillion over the next seven years as businesses, governments and technology firms invest heavily in AI computing capacity.

India is emerging as a strategic destination for these investments. Industry projections indicate the country’s data centre capacity could reach 5 GW to 8 GW by 2030, supported by AI adoption, cloud expansion and data localisation requirements. More than $50 billion of investments are already planned across India’s data centre, cloud and AI ecosystem.

The initiative also aligns with Adani Group’s previously announced commitment to develop 5 GW of green energy powered, AI ready data centre capacity by 2035. If executed as planned, the alliance could strengthen India’s position in global technology supply chains, create thousands of skilled jobs and accelerate the country’s transition from a technology consumer to a technology manufacturer.
