CtrlS Datacenters has inaugurated its Patna data centre, marking a significant step in the development of digital infrastructure in Bihar. The facility, described by the company as Bihar’s first AI-ready data centre, has an IT load capacity of 12 MW and is designed to support the state’s growing digital and technology ecosystem.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, along with Nitish Mishra, Minister for Information Technology, Bihar; Shreyasi Singh, Minister for Industries, Bihar; and Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Department of Industries, Bihar.

The new facility is expected to strengthen the availability of enterprise grade digital infrastructure in the state as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), data storage and secure digital services continues to grow.

With 12 MW of IT load, advanced security systems and carrier neutral connectivity, the data centre is designed to serve businesses requiring reliable, scalable and secure infrastructure for their digital operations. Carrier neutral connectivity allows customers to access multiple telecommunications and network service providers, offering greater flexibility in connectivity choices.

The launch comes amid increasing investment in India’s data centre industry, driven by the expansion of digital services, cloud adoption, AI applications and rising data consumption. As enterprises and government institutions accelerate their digital transformation initiatives, demand for local data centre capacity is becoming increasingly important.

The Patna facility could help bring critical digital infrastructure closer to businesses and institutions in Bihar, potentially supporting improved access to digital services and creating opportunities for the state’s technology ecosystem.

The inauguration also highlights the growing importance of states beyond traditional technology hubs such as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru in India’s digital infrastructure expansion.

For Bihar, the development represents a step towards strengthening its digital capabilities and attracting technology led economic activity. The availability of modern data centre infrastructure can help support businesses seeking dependable digital services while contributing to the broader development of the state’s technology landscape.

CtrlS Datacenters said the project reflects its commitment to supporting Bihar’s digital ambitions and contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bihar.

As India’s demand for computing capacity rises, investments in regional data centre infrastructure are likely to play an important role in expanding the country’s digital economy.
